Sierra Cassette
The
Sierra Cassette test is a rapid, qualitative sandwich dye conjugate
immunoassay with the physical appearance of a white plastic
card or cassette. Add urine or serum sample and an accurate,
visually determined result appears in just minutes. Disposable
and inexpensive, the Sierra Cassette test is an effective alternative
to conventional, labor intensive laboratory testing techniques.
Each
Sierra Cassette device is packaged with a transfer pipette and desiccant
packet under low humidity conditions in an opaque, airtight,
foil pouch. Most Sierra Cassette tests have a shelf life of eighteen
months and may be stored at room temperature (2-28 C).
NOTE:
Refer to individual test instructions for specific timing and
result interpretation. Additional liquid reagents are included
with certain kits and may require refrigeration.
Sierra Cassette
The
Sierra Cassette is an extension of the Sierra Cassette design with multiple
analyte testing capabilities. Designed primarily for drugs of
abuse screening, two uniquely coded test zones produce two independent
qualitative results from a single patient sample.
QuickPac
IV cassette
The
Sierra Cassette Whole Blood Test incorporates new multilayer filtration
and sandwich immunoassay systems in a single module, allowing
both the pretreatment of whole blood sample and the immunochromatographic
detection assay to be performed in one step. Just add 1 drop
of whole blood to the sample well on the cassette, place buffer
in the buffer well, wait ten minutes and read results.
NOTE:
Refer to individual test instructions for specific timing and
result interpretation. Additional liquid reagents are included
with certain kits and may require refrigeration.
Sierra Strip
dipstick
The
Sierra Strip dipstick is a compact alternative to the Sierra Cassette.
It is reliable, accurate and includes a built-in performance
control. Dip the device directly into a specimen sample and
a result appears within minutes.
Each
Sierra Strip test is packaged under low humidity conditions in
an airtight foil pouch. Most Sierra Strip tests have a shelf life
of eighteen months and may be stored at room temperature (2-28
C).
NOTE:
Refer to individual test instructions for specific timing and
result interpretation. Additional liquid reagents are included
with certain kits and may require refrigeration.
Sierra Strip
dipstick
The
Sierra Strip dipstick like the Sierra Cassette Whole Blood Test incorporates
new multilayer filtration and sandwich immunoassay systems in
a single module, allowing both the pretreatment of whole blood
sample and the immunochromatographic detection assay to be performed
in one step. Just add 1 drop of whole blood to the sample well
on the test strip, place strip in extraction cup with buffer,
wait five minutes and read results.
NOTE:
Refer to individual test instructions for specific timing and
result interpretation. Additional liquid reagents are included
with certain kits and may require refrigeration.
Midstream
The
midstream test represents the latest one-step qualitative test
technology. Simply hold the tip of the device directly in the
urine stream and read the result a few minutes later. No collection
cups are necessary and droppers are eliminated. Primarily used
for pregnancy testing, the midstream test is rapidly becoming
the most popular over-the-counter test kit.
Each
test is packaged in a foil pouch under controlled, low humidity
conditions. All devices have a shelf life of eighteen months
at room temperature (2-28 C).
NOTE:
Refer to individual test instructions for specific timing and
result interpretation.
Microwell
EIA (ELISA)
The
Microwell enzyme immunoassay (EIA) gives qualitative, semi-quantitative,
or quantitative results. It is designed for laboratory use and
is ideal for testing large quantities of sample specimens while
keeping the per-test-cost to a minimum.
In
test procedures, sample specimen is allowed to react simultaneously
with antibody enzyme conjugate and antibodies immobilized on
the solid phase of the well. Unbound enzyme conjugate is removed
by tap water rinse and then incubated with special substrate
solutions. Qualitative results are visually read by comparing
the color intensity with a calibratedreference. Quantitative
results are determined using an optical density well reader
(also available through Sierra). Test kit ingredients and procedures
vary.
Microwell
EIA kits have a shelf life of approximately twelve months and
require refrigerated storage (2-8 C).
Membrane
EIA
The
membrane immunoassay test is a solid phase immunosorbent assay
that yields qualitative results using antibody-enzyme or antibody-dye
conjugates. The technology is widely accepted throughout the
world and well known to be reliable and consistent. It is well
suited for laboratory testing and outpatient physician care.
In
the test procedure, suspect treated antigen in urine or serum
is transferred to a reaction pack. Substrate reagent is added
immediately following. If antigen is present, a visual pattern
forms ('•' or '+') in the test window.
Lyophilized
reagents are stable for eighteen months at room temperature.
Liquid reagents require refrigerated storage (2-8 C).
Latex
Agglutination
The
latex agglutination test is most commonly used for screening
large numbers of patients. It is an affordable alternative to
newer one-step testing techniques although it does not provide
the same sensitivity or accuracy and must be performed by trained
technicians.
Test
kits include a reusable slide and liquid reagents. Liquid reagents
have a shelf life of twelve months and require refrigerated
storage (2-8 C).
Hemo-PacK
& Hemo-Stix
The
Hemo-Pack and Hemo-Stix Fecal Occult Blood Tests utilize the
Sierra Cassette and Sierra Strip devices together with a specially designed
fecal collection tube.
The
tube contains a special buffer that is mixed with fecal sample
preparing it for testing. The mixture is added directly to the
test device and results are read within minutes.
Rapid
Swab Test
The
biochemical swab test is a new, highly accurate qualitative
enzymatic assay. Conducted on the tip of a Dacron swab, test
procedures are extremely simple. Obtain a specimen sample using
the test swab, add a few drops of the required reagents, and
read the results within minutes. Positive results are visually
determined by a purple color development on the tip of the test
swab.
Kits
come complete with swabs and reagents. The shelf life is twelve
to eighteen months and refrigeration is required (2-8 C).
